Culinary and Garden uses for Marshmallow

In the Kitchen, you can add the young, tender leaves to your salads. You can fry up the roots with butter and onions. Something interesting I would have never have thought of.

In the garden, marshmallow will come back after a freeze as it is a perennial. It has pretty hollyhock type flowers on tall stalks. So it looks great at the back of a border of plants. This plant is hardy from zones 4-9.
